We rent alpine, back country , cross country skis, snowboards and snowshoes for your winter recreation in Tahoe.  We also carry many of those accessories you might need to purchase before venturing out . We also rent sea kayaks for those people that have had self rescue training.  This training is essential for winter kayaking in extremely cold water.  Rentals for advanced kayakers only, although we can take less experienced people on a guided tour. We do require proper clothing and good weather for kayaking.  We are   offering snow biking (Mountain bikes with studded tires) in the winter, also for advanced/expert renters only. See our bike page for more winter snow biking info.      We have over twenty ski areas within an hours drive some as close as Northstar and Diamond Peak  which are 10 minutes away.                                     We carry Atomic Skis for alpine skiing and Fisher skis for cross country and back country.  We also carry SnowJam snowboards and you'll find Tubbs and MSR snowshoes in our rental dept. Rent your skis at our downtown Kings Beach location before you get to the ski areas, you will save time and money. We also offer kayak tours, sales and rentals during the winter for the more experienced paddlers. You can paddle into the giant boulders off of Crystal Bay in a 15 minutes time. We provide you with wilderness systems (www.wildernesssystems.com) and perception (www.kayaker.com) kayaks. We carry a large inventory of kayaks year round.
